TRAVELING BY CAR

FROM CENTER CITY PHILADELPHIA OR SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY

• Take I-76 West towards Valley Forge.
• Take Exit # 340A towards Lincoln Drive/ Kelly Drive/ Wissahickon Park; Follow signs for Lincoln Drive.
• Follow Lincoln Drive for approximately 1.5 miles, make a right at the first traffic light (Rittenhouse Street).
• Follow Rittenhouse Street for one block, and make a left at the first traffic light (Wissahickon Avenue).
• Follow Wissahickon Avenue for 1-½ blocks.
• The entrance for RittenhouseTown will be on your left, halfway up the hill. If you reach Walnut Lane, you have gone too far.
• The second building on your right is the Visitor Center (208 Lincoln Drive/RittenhouseTown Lane); this is where tours begin.

FROM NORTHERN AND WESTERN SUBURBS

From the west, take US-202 or I-276 (PA Turnpike) towards Valley Forge/ King of Prussia to I-76.
From the north, take I-476 towards Conshohocken to I-76.

• Take I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) East towards center city Philadelphia.
• Take Exit # 340A Towards Lincoln Drive/ Kelly Drive/ Wissahickon Park; Follow signs for Lincoln Drive.
• Follow Lincoln Drive for approximately 1.5 miles, make a right at the first traffic light (Rittenhouse Street).
• Follow Rittenhouse Street for one block, and make a left at the first traffic light (Wissahickon Avenue).
• Follow Wissahickon Avenue for 1-½ blocks.
• The entrance for RittenhouseTown will be on your left, halfway up the hill. If you reach Walnut Lane, you have gone too far.
• The second building on your right is the Visitor Center (208 Lincoln Drive/RittenhouseTown Lane); this is where tours begin.

TRAVELING BY BUS OR TRUCK

• From Route 1 (City Ave), take City Ave across the Schuylkill River. Get in the far right lane and follow the signs for Ridge Ave.
• From Center City, take I-76 West and get off at Exit 340A. Get in the far right lane and follow the signs for Ridge Avenue.
• Make a left onto Ridge Avenue.
• Drive .2 miles to a fork in the road. Bear right to stay on Ridge and proceed up the hill.
• Continue for .6 miles and make a left to stay on Ridge Ave (Landmark: TD Bank)
• Continue on Ridge Ave Avenue for .2 miles and make a right onto Walnut Lane. (Landmark: Gas station w/ Dunkin’ Donuts)
• Proceed on Walnut Lane for .8 miles.
• Bear right at the traffic circle to stay on Walnut Lane.
• Take Walnut Lane to Wissahickon Ave and make a right.
• Proceed for roughly 350 feet and make a right into our marked driveway.
• If you reach Lincoln Drive you have gone to far. Use the gas station at Wissahickon Ave and Rittenhouse Street to turn around.
• FOR TOUR GROUPS OR REGULAR WEEKEND TOURS: Once you enter the driveway, the second building on your right is the Visitor Center. This is where your tour begins.
• Park in the large open space between the Visitor Center and its neighboring building.
• FOR SPECIAL EVENTS THAT START AT THE HOMESTEAD: After entering the site, proceed to the first and only building on the left. This is the Homestead. You may park along the road or in the area between the Visitor Center and its neighboring building.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

• Mass Transit comes within a few blocks of RittenhouseTown’s entrance. If using a smartphone with GPS, enter 6034 Wissahickon Ave. Phila. PA, 19144 for step by step walking directions from your stop. Please call us (215)438-5711 if you are lost or require more assistance.

• The closest train station is the Tulpehocken Station which is accessible via the Septa’s Chestnut Hill West Line. SEE SCHEDULE.

PARKING

Parking is available free of charge. Once you’ve entered the driveway, proceed to the Visitor Center (208), the second building on the right. You may park between the Visitor Center and its neighboring building (209).
