Due to the generosity of the Jane Elizabeth Cohen Foundation, we have been able to relocate the Historic RittenhouseTown Visitor Center, Administrative Offices and Gift Shop to the ca. 1845 Enoch Rittenhouse Home. As part of this work, we have recreated the Front Parlor to look as it might have in the late 1800’s.
Jane Cohen is a descendant of the last Rittenhouse family to live in the village at the Enoch Rittenhouse Home. Cousins Christine Rittenhouse Russell and Tom Rittenhouse joined with friends and supporters to dedicate the Parlor to Jane’s Mother, Ella RittenhouseCohen, and her Grandmother, Elizabeth Rittenhouse Schultz.
The room will serve as a repository for artifacts donated by members of the Rittenhouse family. This spring we will restore the exterior of the structure with the Foundation’s support.
Hi: My friend and I wanted to see your exhibit on David Rittenhouse but there was no one there. Your web site says 1:00 so we waited until 2:00 just in case someone would show up. We are neighbors so we will return but will call first.

Sorry we missed you. All public tours include access to the David Rittenhouse exhibit at the Rittenhouse Homestead. These tours begin at the Visitor Center (the building marked 208). The Visitor Center is the third building on the right after you enter the driveway. When you return for a tour, please knock on the door of the Visitor Center during regular tours hours and a guide will be happy to welcome you. Regular tours hours are Saturdays and Sundays from June 11-September 24
1PM-5PM.
In addition to our regular tours, we also have free curator-led tours of the David Rittenhouse exhibit. Though they are free, reservations are required. You may make your reservation here: https://rittenhousetown.org/special-events/ Remaining dates for these tours are September 3 and October 9. On these two days, you may start your curator-led tour at the Homestead instead of the Visitor Center.
